How to Join

Our Purpose

Welcome!   The purpose of FLAIR is to provide the stage for quality homeschool activities led by all members in a cooperative environment.  Active leadership and participation of all members is what makes FLAIR a successful and vibrant co-op.  Please read the following group requirements carefully when considering if FLAIR is right for your family.

Each member will actively participate and help in all activities in which their children participate. It is our goal to help you feel welcome and as an integral and valuable part of our co-op community quickly.

FLAIR is not primarily a support group, but rather an education co-op. Members are required to pro-actively plan, prepare, and execute at least two FLAIR activities during the course of each year.  If a member has not participated in this way and would like to re-join, the Leadership Committee will make the final decision on a case-by-case basis.

FLAIR does not provide babysitting nor "drop-off" service. Members are required to be on the premises and are expected to be with one of their children at all times - this includes ALL ages and activities. It is the member's responsibility to touch base with those leading their children's activities to determine where they can be of assistance.

All group communication takes place via YahooGroups and e-mail. It is each member's responsibility to keep the YahooGroup information current and check information regularly.

If a member has a concern, problem, or complaint, they should address it with the person directly involved. It is not appropriate to address such personal concerns to the membership at large.

There is no flaming allowed on or off the list. Such discourse will result in list messages being moderated and a warning being issued. Continuing such discourse will result in being asked to leave.

FLAIR is a supportive group for the purpose of providing a healthy and fun learning environment for all members. Disrespect for each family and their choices in regard to educational and other personal matters will not be tolerated.

How to Consider FLAIR

(1) Contact our Membership Coordinator  if you have questions not found in our website.  Those wanting to further consider and plan for membership will receive some information via email.

(2) Please complete and return the information as indicated in the packet. Choosing a co-op in which to devote your valuable time and energy should be thoughtfully and carefully considered. We want to be sure you have all the information you need to make the best decision for your family. The information in this packet provides an opportunity for us to mutually share our homeschool vision and goals and is required prior to considering registration.

(3) Plan Early. In order to maintain the children as our primary focus while we plan exciting units, new registrations are considered once each year beginning as early as April for the subsequent school year beginning in August.  Space is very limited and new registrations are considered individually, so plan EARLY.
